Committed to Success Driven by Persistence

Mission & Vision

The mission of the Persistence Project is to increase the rate of college retention and attainment among low-income, first generation, minority students.

Our hope is that through our programming, students will gain the necessary skills and tools needed to overcome barriers to college completion and job attainment.

WHAT WE DO

Case Management

Students who receive case management services can expect to receive customized support through one-on-one case management. This service fosters a mentor-mentee relationship between the student and case manager.

Career Exploration

Students will have access to multiple networking opportunities that can provide mentorship, career advice, and connections. Students can explore the career of their choice through job shadows and personal interviews.

Tailored Workshops

Workshops that address college success, finance, career and personal development for today’s changing labor market.

Breaking Barriers, Building Futures

What People Are Saying

“Most parents send their children to school to be a doctor, nurse, lawyer, or engineer. At times, the parent’s dream can be nothing but suffocating dreams to the young adult. Yes, it is a desire for the parent but what about the child’s aspirations? Despite my indecisiveness and not knowing my next step (I have tried to see what it would be to be x,y,x but in the end I am not satisfied), you are patient in allowing me to take time to pray and search until I know for certain God said, “yes, my daughter.” He may not say it audibly but at least I would have this overwhelming sense of peace, joy, content, and freedom in my heart/mind/body/soul/being.”

“The program reminded me to take care of ourselves. I was able to establish a functioning budget which allowed me to allocate every dollar. Lastly, the program made me feel like there was someone else who was looking to see me succeed in the things I wanted to accomplish- someone else wanted the same goals for me that I had wanted as well.”
